Hi, I've been lurking on deviantART for around 3 years. I'm a pretentious 17 year old pseudo-artist who doesn't do much except for the occasional web design, and I write plenty (hence :#WriteRoom

About a week after joining dA I found dAmn. The first room I joined was :#devArt:, but there were too many people and I knew none of them, so it didn't feel like the right place to be. It wasn't a very exciting first time.

My name is Marilyn and I am a young lass from Scotland. I am a cartoonist and I currently study Acting & Performance at college. A part from that, I also enjoy singing and dancing anywhere, having a drink with friends and keeping myself busy!
Despite being an outgoing and bubbly person, I am described as 'random', 'ditzy' and 'blonde'... even though I'm brunette. Lmao!

Well I'm not the greatest at talking about myself so I'll keep it brief here, but I love to meet people on dA and if anyone has questions about me or the community please do not hesitate to contact me! Just a few of my passions include my work (I am a licensed professional working with children with special needs, like autism and also teach graduate courses at a state university), my friends, my family, my pup, changing the world, and pursuing my curiosities.

Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways.
The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community. Addicted: It's fairly easy to become a dAmn addict once you've found the right kind of chatroom.

Autocomplete: If you want to direct your message to one person, type the first few letters of their username and hit the tab key to complete the users name.

Backslash: Its your best friend, helps you join rooms, search for friends, ban a troll and much more.

Ban: There are two types of ban to define here, a channel ban and a dAmn ban. A channel ban prevents a user from being able to join and message within the chatroom. A dAmn ban prevents a user from accessing the chat network at all (a banned user will experience a 'not privileged' error upon trying to join a chatroom)

Bot A bot is a software based program that carries out automated tasks within a chatroom. dA does not supply or provide help with bots however.
